Choose one 500 series Mic pre, EQ and Comp to use for 2014.. what are they??

If you were to only keep one 500 series Mic pre, compressor and EQ in your lunchbox to use for the next year or so what would they be?

So many to choose from but this narrows down the ones that you feel are good on almost anything..

CAPI, Inward, Shadow Hills.

For EQ, there are a few that I find that don't differentiate themselves as much as the pres or comps do. I like a lot of em, not an easy pick.

I have a pair of AML ez1073 (already has EQ, what a deal!!) in a six space with a pair of Missing Link that I would end up keeping if forced to choose. But I am loving the CAPI VP28. The Hairball Lola was a nice surprise. John Hardy 500 is supposedly on its way soon. That would be something to consider.

All my compressors are rack at this point so I cannot speak with knowledge on that.

There are plenty of great pre's and I happen to use the great river. Compressors are a different story. I have a had a few very disappointing contenders. Buzz essence is a superb piece of gear. It's one of my favorite compressors and it get's used on everything. I wish a had a potion to complement it. BUZZ!!!!

Yes, it is true! No bs on my posts.. heh
I believe everybody who already sells the MA5..

Avedis is slowly going back with another run of e27's..
I'm not sure when he will start selling them, but I think it's a matter of months hopefully..

He's trying to work on new stuff but wants to make some more e27's, because sounds so great..

I actually called him few months ago asking some other questions, and this is what he said.. but you could call him directly and ask.. might have more information right now on the e27 status..
I'm already waiting in line for another one.. heh

I hope this helps,
