What DI are you guys liking with the Neve DPA/DPD?

For direct selectric guitar, bass and synth?

I know this has been covered, but is a Reddi at $700 a channel overkill with the Neve or even needed?

Sorry for the ignorance?

I'm using two BSS AR-133 active DI boxes with the 1073DPA.
They sound great. thumbsup

Yes, I've hard that, thank you. I'll try the BSS.

here's an ignorant question (sorry), so we need a DI box on the Neve DPA/DPD for direct guitar, bass, synths. but on pre-amps like the Brent Averill 312 or chandler Germanium that have a 1/4" direct input, do you benefit from a good DI box, is it even needed?

I feel kind of stupid for asking this, so please be kind.

There is no definitive better on the subject. If you want cleanest, quietest route, the DI built-in to the BAE and others is often the best route. If you are looking for a little bit of color or character, you can often benefit by going through the extra transformer(s) by using an external DI that drops the signal to mic level.

Ahh, thank you, but on the new Neve DPA/DPD, it does require a DI box, right?

Or does it?

Yes, but your BAE and a good majority of the preamps on the market feature built-in DI's.
