SPDIF to ADAT optical ?

Is there any convertor SPDIF to ADAT optical (or AES-EBU to ADAT optical ? Having Digi 001 I got in troubles with Lexicon and Mytek with only SPDIF out. I bought CO2 convertor but it changes to RCA optical, which disables the normal SPDIF, so it is for nothing. Any solution ?

A Z Systems 8.8 (4.2.2) detangler should do the trick, plus you can run SPDIF in to either SPDIF optical out or AES out, with recallable "patches". Z Sys detangler stuff is asyncronous, so you won't have glitches- it doesn't care if you are moving a different sample rate/wordlength on another set of inputs and outputs channels within the box.

Sorry for the shameless plug, but not enough folks know how easily Glenn Z makes these kind of issues disappear.

If you only need to do two channels at a time, the Midiman Sam converts spdif to adat and vice versa up to 24bit/48k.

Is Cop-1 converting really to ADAT optical (not SPDIF optical like CO2 ?) What is the input and output (8 channels of ADAT ? or ?) How much is it ?

ISedlacek,

we at MUTEC are manufacturing a converter box which is called FORMAT CHANGER multichannel aa. You can have a look at their specs at:

www.mutec-net.de/content.php?lng=e&pg=fcmaa

This converter could meet your requirements to convert from AES/EBU or S/PDIF to ADAT lightpipe (or vice versa). Additionally, sampling rate conversion can be added on all channels referenced to external word/super clock or AES/EBU and ADAT. Also bidirectional transfers between both formats are possible. If you need further details, please let me know.

Regards, Christian.
