Don't know if this qualifies for "high end", but it is a home studio anyway and I dig it:

Yeah that qualifies. I should think over 20k in gear qualifies.

HIGH END for 20K ????????
Never ever !

'Blues Bird' guitars have worth much more than 20K.

... maybe we have different views of High End.

That's a pretty tasty little selection of outboard right there.

Yep, I'd say it qualifies as high end.

Let's be nice...

20k could be hi-end. I could figure out some nice pieces that put me in the high end from scratch.

Example (owning a MacPro or Equal)
Apogee Symphony 16 I/O
2-bus/D-Box
Focal Twin Be's
Burl B2
Heritage Audio DMA73
ISA 828 or 428
Presonus ADL 2-ch or Manley
API 3124
2-ELabs Disstressors
A few Mohave Mics
Universal Audio DSP Accelerator
And a lunchbox for more flavors!!??

Maybe?

At a discounted price for having 20k available. It's kinda Hi-end right?

It's all relative. I can in theory spend over 15 grand for 6' of speaker cable.

So.

I have over $20K just in my wifes set up here at the house. Not sure what the price tag will end up at for the one we are building!

You can buy a MH LIO8 Sehnheiser HD800 or Pelonis 4288 and be high end under 10K.

It s great piece - love, that I can dial in ( with the silk button and/ or the degree of hitting the unit hard) the amount of character I need for the signal. Also the inserts and the second stereo out are useful. I have them all connected to the patchbay - so it is easy to use the options. Build quality is top notch.

very nice. Makes every signal more "serious". Also for scratch guitars the DI sounds great with the scuffham amp modeler.

Ooops, had a jam session the other night with a good friend of mine to check out my new tweed bandmaster clone (which is a real monster, btw...) and the bottle must have been left...

Nice. I always include a shot of Scotch with anything I take. Surprised at how close that label appears to the Ardbeg stuff.

10 year Talisker for me. 16 yr Lagavulin for any newbies that visit my pad who can't handle the manly stuff.

The room is 7m x 5m x 2,10m. The acoustic elements are from GIK acoustics -highly recommended:

Acoustic Panels | Bass Traps | Diffusors | GIK Acoustics

Awesome! Mine is a tad tighter at 19'x13'x8' (5.75m x 4m x 2.4m) with a small alcove in the back so I think I can set up a pretty similar layout. I've got plenty of guitars to get up off the floor and was wondering how to find a balance between them and sound treatment. Looks like you found it!

While it true that in general "you get what you pay for"... "It's all relative" is also true and a figure of $ 20 k or even less for a basic system could in fact still be "high end"

I consider my studio somewhat high "end-ish" albeit 2 channels of out board and specifically for personal use Not to mention it's in the attic so it's automatically 'High" end

PT HD Native - Mac Westmere 6 core 27" mac display - Avid OMNI - (KRK V8 moitors arguable the weakest link) Sennheiser HD 600 HP's

A Designs MP2A - Bricasti M7 - Brauner Phantom V, Schoeps CMC6 MK4

is this not high end?

OK OK buy the time ya throw in these were over 20k but still ??

Here are a few pictures of mine. I recently moved several times so I'm still getting things settled and setup but its a good workable space. I have a MCI JH-16/24 tape machine that I haven't been able to setup yet and I used to have a MCI 428b that I sold so that someone would utilize it. That killed me but there just isn't enough demand up here for gear like that...
