There's a quaint little sandwich shop I go to, been in business 40 years. They haven't expanded into a chain. They're still independent. losers. heh

I'd brag about doing anything in this business continually for 20 years.

Oh yea, I like my Big Ben

I've just received and incorporated BB in my setup. I must say that Tascam dm4800 clock is better than I thought. I payed 1000USD just to find that out.

Well, I did notice tighter and somewhat cleaner low end...But in such small nuances that it seems to me that all those glamorous posts saying about BB expanding and improving the sound are a bit effusive. Well, maybe BB will show its teeths in a few days when I'll be adding two motu 2408 mk3 units and lynx aurora 16. Hopefully...Till then I'll try to post samples with and without BB(tascam dm4800).

This post is basically what I was about to write. The BB locks flawless but dont expect it to "improve" your converters. I personally think that is something repeated by dealers and it has found itself into being a "truth" BB is a digital clock not a nonexsistent "converter improver" rackmount device.

Ben

Mine is still speaking peacefully to 8-10
digital devices at any time.
It keeps the time and it keeps the peace.

This is no longer controversial.

Let's go back and debate about whether digital is here to stay.
How 'bout those dang motor cars?!

more jitter but better clock

I'm an idiot when it comes to this debate, but is it the jitter that everyone's getting hung up on? It seems like the introduction of a better and more stable external clock outweighs the added jitter it may add. There seems to be many people who believe a Big Ben or other clock like the Antelope OCX improve studios that have just one other digital device. With this idea, the science and the musical improvement some hear can both be correct. maybe? thanks to all parties, this is really a learning experience.

I have the Aurora 16 + the Antelope OCX and I feel a great improvement! really love it!

I think also the difference is more dramatic when I am mixing in my PT HD3 Accell than when I am listening just a CD! i hear a bigger difference.

I guess maybe because during mix are so many tracks and so many other digital operations like plug ins , etc...

Anybody experienced the same?
