How do you spell translation?

A good friend and co-worker just inspired the hell out of me, and I sharing some creativity with yall, and some true gearslut passion (along with me not sleeping again tonight for some reason)...

Anyways, the 1st step to recovery is admitting you have a problem, and right now I have a problem/addiction with making shure things of mine - no matter how large or small, translate evenly & without predjudice to every human that has ears, wether they ****ing use them or hear music on accident, those people get into it sometimes too and might actually plop down a few bucks for the cd (or at least rip it off a friend), nevermind that guy though, we say **** him...

Below is my current (or at least part of my monitoring rig)

From outer bridge to inner bridge :

1) Genelec 1031a's - my mains, my accuarcy, my truth

2) Pioneer XR-P260F - my middle range of consumer stereo, equipped with ****ty D>A, a -10 AUX in, remote control and 25-disc changer for quick mix reference, and also cheesy DSP presets that consumers love to use like "live", "disco" "more-bass", "live", and the most extreme "concert hall"

3) Tivoli Audio MODEL TWO- These are the consumer's radio reference, they are powered (20w each speaker), have a -10 AUX that also there is a switch for on the front, and also a sub-out that can interface with an optional sub that has both volume and crossover control, yet a fixed curve of the x-over point I think. Either way these rule, and I dub them the "Auratones of the 22nd Century".

For those who might ask, my monitor bridge right now is decorated for vibe for my not so world class mix room.

The lunchbox in the middle is a custom 4-channel preamp rack that I had custom built for me by a friend (e-mail me if you want to contact the tech, I won't spam blatantly here). There are Four Siemens/Telefunken V-276 preamps. They are solid state and have nice big transformers on the input and output stages. They have a highpass at 40/80/120Hz. Gain is in 12db steps from 0 to 76db, and then there is a 2nd gain stage with 10db of additional continuous gain. In few words, they are like an API with less up top and more personality in the mids. Don't use these too hard folks, or you might be scooping mids out of your mix, or Mr. Blackwood will be doing it with his new born baby - not a son or daughter - but the Crane-Song Ibis....

Anyways - this is my meter bridge, equipped with art for vibe (including some 80s "Transformers" - as in "more than meets the eye" characters that are actually fighting dinosaurs that transform into tapes! And the silver doo-hickie on top of the Telefunken Goodness is the toy version of the men in black thing that erases people's memory. In the rare event I get a "dumb ass", he gets zapped with that, and then an explination in laymans terms if needed.

Anyways is how I spell translation, and vibe - please share your pictures...

and for those that thought I wasn't totally insane, below are my extreme references...

Mono wireless intercom speaker that I rigged up to accept -10 unbalanced audio, you don't want to **** with this guy, especially his Volume knob.

Continental Airlines complimentary stereo "deluxe" headphones that are complimentary on your flight. I would like to say to those members of the Taliban that are reading this (hey people know about Gearsluz), That God Forbid one of your ****ers decided to try a weak attempt at hurting this country and it's people - that you will have the worse irony in hell, and get me on that flight - and I will die knowing my mix is translation to my free radio headphones, and that will give me some quick super privalges from God if there is one, or her - and use them to make sure you never see Allah or anything of that bull**** that makes you justfiy actions

So in full jay crouch tradtional - I make a tribute to those who died and those who are americans, and the last resort of translation pictures below goes to you curtousy of me....
