Yup, I've got 6 of 'em. I think they're awesome - they never cease to amaze me. They've been replacing some of the other tried-and-true compressors in my studio.

I just picked up a pair. Haven't tried them yet though... I'm sure they don't suck.

I have never used a compressor with so much flavor, and so many flavors, and lastly so flexible.

You will love this compressor.

I would say, do not expect the emulations to be spot on.
They are great and very usable, but as always don't expect what you don't have.
I have found non-emulation release times to be better anyways.

Good luck!

I planned on getting just one for just mono tracking, but the more research I do on this thing the more I'm leaning towards a pair! Any of you guys using these on mix buss?

i havent tried them on the mix buss, mainly because i am a bit spoilt for other stereo comps, but i think a pair of them would be a great option over the mix, and i will probably try it on my next project. I dont know anyone who has been dissapointed with these units.

I'm also looking into getting a pair of these- how are they with tracking vocals?

I can't say I have tracked many Vox through them.
However, I have mix a ton and they are great for getting something to fit a tune.
They can really change the sound of the source so much that you can literally make the sound fit.

When I tried them as a pr. on the mix buss, I was not impressed as they gave me too many options I liked and got lost in, and another comp was easily beating them (G384).

I have had great results with them on a Vox buss and a gtr buss.

Good luck!

They're not "emulations" a la the Distressor or a plug-in, they're simply some of Geoff's favorite release times from other compressors. You'd be pretty hard pressed to "emulate" those compressors in the analog world

I had great results with those on the 2bus - they have a bit more weight in the bottom end compared to a C2 (IIRC)

gotta try em once more I think

How are they compare to their Mic Pre/FET compressor combo? Are they still sell those? I don't see them on their web site anymore...
