Atomic SqueezeBox. Before I plunge in....

I can't demo the ASB from where I am at the moment (overseas) but am really thinking of buying one (seriously, not just thinking... with finger on the 'BUY NOW' button)...

I've searched GS for all threads/posts in regards to this unit but I'd like to hear from some of the users of the ASB about what they think of it now.. after having used them for quite some time.

I'm mainly thinking about the mixing stage and vocals.

So any observations (firsthand) and opinions would be great, thanks!

I think you'll dig it on vocals.

Lots of compression w/o $hitty tone.

Running through the box rounds the tone in a good way.

There was a used one in GS classifieds just a week or 2 ago... a legit Canadian seller.
You might save yourself a few bucks.
Just a thought.

Thanks for the replies....

I'm a bit curious as to the condition of the ASB's. I have a friend who's had to ship it back and forth across the Pacific due to problems and was wondering if this is an isolated issue or is it quite common...? BTW, the guy still swears by it and is looking to get a stereo model.

The Atomic Squeezebox is the closet thing to heaven by way of compression.
