astronic equalizer info?

astronic equalizer info?

i just got these 2 mono graphic eq's made by astronic i think in the 60ies...
only thing i could find info was that some custom neve desk in those times used eq's from the same brand..
they were made in dalston gardens, stanmore,middlesex,uk

anyone ever heard of the name?
cheers.. o yeah, one gives plops every seconds or so, like the ones that make your woofer move slowly .. ne1 ideas towards a fix?

Congratulations

Actually, I own two channels of the 10 band control boxes with separate electronics that I love for electric guitars and for making vocals sound vintage, I also have a 10 band Tube graphic that is no longer working, but it will be repaired soon.


Change the capacitors in the psu that generally cures most problems, and enjoy

I have heard of them.

The link to Neve is tenuous.... studios often specify third party equipment they want built into their consoles and I can only remember one console that had one (or a pair) fitted into 19" racking. It was a 19" rack unit just like yours, I presume.

I think companies like Klark Technique (sp?) and the likes had a bigger share of the market.

I'd definitely look into recapping them.

Hi,
The company was owned by my uncle who died on the 9th January 2020 at 98!!.
Supplied Royalty, Downing Street and other government departments with electronic equipment.
My uncle was way ahead of his time and still doing computer work in his 90's.
