"i just want to thank you, because you are probably the reason i am an audio engineer today..."

he looked at me in mock horror, and started to run away, and said..."well, don't blame me!"

we both broke into laughter.

he was truly a modest english gentleman, unimpressed by his work.

you are admired, geoff.

Fantastic book he wrote, too, one of the best. I guess I'll pick him too. But give me someone else to produce...I'll take Eno.

His book is the BEST Beatles book ever written (besides the Recording the Beatles book), and I've read them all. He really gives you an idea of what the sessions were like as well as insights to their personalities that I've never heard anyone else mention.

And for my money, Abbey Road is the pinnacle of recorded sound for pop/rock. Sure, there's different since then, but not better. Just check out the sound!!!

And I thought this thread was just what engineer to track and mix, not who'd you want producing, mastering, etc.?

Bob Weston and Rich Costey, and let them decide what they want to do.

Bob Ludwig is kind of a given, right?

I think I'd want Bob Ezrin to (over)produce, and Michael Brauer to mix… Then CLA to (re)mix.
