A few great songs

Doesn't matter who's in the control room

I could make do with Froom/Blake, or Nigel Godrich, or maybe George Martin.

I'd put myself up for most of the mixing, however I am absolutely in love with what TLA did for the drums on The Verve Pipe's Villians album. As far as I'm concerned that's my favourite drum sound on any record, ever.

SO that said:

TLA - Tracking
Me - Mixing
Ludwig - Mastering

If I had to pick someone who wasn't me for all of it, I'd hit up TLA or Glen Ballard (I love Jagged Little Pill) for tracking and mixing, Ludwig or João Carvalho...

my **** is sort of all over the place, so:

heavier tracks:
devin townsend for the tracking
andy sneap on the mix

more laid-back tracks:
baressi for tracking
wallace for the mix

katz for the mastering

thumbsup

edit: i would also want david bottrill to track/mix a couple of tunes. the albums he did with tool still give me a boner every time i hear them.

Cool thread.

For me, I'd beg borrow or steal to be fortunate enough for either Glyn or Andy Johns or Gavin Brown or Dan Huff or Michael Wagner to cut my bands record. Then of course, there's Max Norman or even woo... the Don Landee/Ted Templeman thing. Sheesh.

For mastering, I'd take George Marino.

6 pages and not a single mention of Alan Parsons?? Soem cloth eared peeps around you ask me...

Nice lil story about one producer who has been widely discussed. Lets just say the man likes to Relax in a big way with a a good 12 skinner.. He once spent umpteen quid on trying to sort out the Bass to a rather huge soporofic in name, if not in tone, single. He tried studios allover the world and just couldn't nail that bass riff right.. After an excursion lasting a couple of months and taking studios on several different continents, he returns to his native Blighty. Rolls up in the morning, literally, says.. "Play me some of the Bass tracks"... The very first take , done by one of THE greatset Bass Players alive , Mr Norman Watt Roy, is run past the tape heads and said Producer perks up and says... That's the one!!!!!!!!!!... heh

Engineer - Flood
Mix - Kevin Killen
Mastering - Fred Kevorkian

I would be producing, and the record would be for The Strokes or the reunited Six Finger Satellite.
