Does anyone out there have any idea what type of mic pre, compression,eq,or recording techniques did Barry White use in the 70s.

He was from the Philly area, maybe a lot of those classic tracks were done at Sigma?

i think it was most importantly a band, playing like mf's,
doing live basics through
a mixing desk (before "mic pre's" existed) onto tape......
