Anyone tried a Horch mic with API?

HI there

I am in need for a new preamp.
My neve (1073) is just a little too dark for the mic (rm2)
and I was wondering if anyone tried it with API pres.
Now, that this AD thing is out...it seems like a good deal.

cheers
Jakob

Bump!
Would be cool to know! Is the Horch really that dark sounding?

No way ... It has full sound with nice air. Not dark at all ... Unless you consider some Chinese sharp junk as reference ...
We tried quite a few preamps here and Pendulum was the best sounding ... API was probably my least favourite ... somehow too much scooped in details

My usual "go to" pre for the RM-2J is the TAB-funkenwerk V-78M... as always, YMMV.

IF I end up with a Horch, I'm curious as to whether there are any 500 series modules that anyone's used with success on this beast.

Since I'm using this for VO, maybe it's worth trying out with something like an Elixir...

Yes, API stuff... from the 500 series to the 200 series to the 3124 and A2D all work very nicely with Horch mics if that is the sound you're working to achieve.
