Germanium or Pacifica - what´s next ?

can you say that one or the other is better or are they just different ?

The sound samples I have heard here impressed me quite a lot
Germanium seems to be very warm
Pacifica seems to have a rich tone

Did aynone compare both or let me know his/her opinion which one to choose first ?

Any pre amp that is beyond consumer level will get you where you need to be. They will all sound pretty damn good when it all comes down to it, and you can not really go wrong with any of the models you listed. Pacifica is a 2ch unit while the Germ is only 1. Do you need just 1 or 2 channels?

musicsound-2, what other pres are you using? What kind of music are you recording? What instruments? What kind of mics?

"Better" sort of depends on what you already have and what you want to do.

After factoring in what you already own and the uses...

I would say the Pacifica.

Just out of curiosity:
In what kind of circumstances would you recommend a Germanium, then?

I've never heard the germanium but I do own a pacifica and it has changed my life. I have been tracking a lot and I've decided to use it on everything after my initial drum tracking with SCA A12's and N72 and Sytek pres. I wish i could afford another.
