What vocal mic is this?

I am guessing a U47 or something else I can't afford.

Gotta love Philip Selway!

Thanks

Looks like a U47 with a wind screen.

Hey thanks!

Drumsound, since you watched that vid .... I really love that type of kick sound but I have a hard time getting something like that. I have multiple sized kicks/heads and I find it difficult to achieve that sound.

Any suggestions? It's been driving me nuts for years.

remind me not to use a u47 close up like that, way to mid forward and sibilant...

although I really really really love his solo stuff...

I checked it out on my laptop. I'll listen later and see if I can offer any insight.

Seems like an U47, which usually sounds great, this clip was among the worst thing Ive ever heard actually

It was really sibilant. I wonder if that's web compression reeking havoc, or a bad comprettor setting, or something else.

I listened and I have few speculations on the BD sound. First off you're hearing the BD and the floor tom with a mallet. He starts just with the floor tom and adds the BD as things build. The BD sounds pretty dead, probably NOT a 'made for BD' head like a EQ3 or SuperKick. It kind of reminds me of some things I've heard from a friend of mine's drum with a coated ambassador with a small pillow. I also believe the drummer buries the beater when he hits it. The mic doesn't sound too hyped either, maybe an RE20 or 421 as opposed to a d112 or even an e602.

I hope that helps.

Does anyone have additional info on that strange but beautiful instrument that one of the women is playing with a bow? One of the YouTube comments says it's a saw (I did see the saw blade). Can anyone be more specific? Brand, size, type of metal, etc.? It sounds amazing!
