Benchmark DAC1 vs Aurora

hello there,

does anyone have compared the two in regards to DA conversion?
i'm in a need to expand the DA section in my studio.
so far i'm running all DA with Benchmark DAC1s and i'm very happy with all four i have of them.
i need 8 channels more and to do that with Benchmark the cost is quite high compared to Aurora.
i could use the AD in Aurora as well but i'm pretty well-stocked already with ADs so the main issue is with DA side.
i'm working at 24/44.1 and am not considering changing to higher rates.
(i've read few threads about Aurora users saying the unit at 44.1 is not that good?)

thanks a lot.

I cannot comment on the comparison to the Benchmark. But the Aurora's sound great at 44.1. I own one and I agree with the others who think that they rock @ 96 though. But it is more that I have not heard s converter that seems to really be optimized for 96k if that makes sense.
