Tweed Audio Console

Hi guys, Ive got a load of Tweed Audio channel strips from an old class A console that I want to build into a small desk. I need help building a small mixer, 12 > 2 and am in need of a decent tech to help me with the project. I believe these consoles were built in Kelso by Neve specialists so maybe someone who knows Neve gear well. I guess them being just strips right now Ill need a frame built with I/O, a mix buss and basic master section and a power supply . Anyone know anyone...

Thanks for reading , Dave

Wow! Lucky guy! You may have found something quite special. Used to work on an old Tweed desk in the early eighties. It was badly maintained and had it's problems, but the pre's and EQ were wonderful!

Hi

For starters, the Tweed Audio console use IC's so I am not sure who told you they were class A. Wishful thinking, methinks.

I have some of the documentation, so feel free to contact me.

BRIEF HISTORY OF TWEED AUDIO. : Khursheed Musufa started Tweed Audio in October 1973 in a semi derelect building at the back of The Square in Kelso, moving soon after to Rosewood Industrial Estate Kelso then (ironically to a building next to Neve Electronics on Pinnaclehill Industrial Estate Kelso where he had been Neve Kelso's chief test engineer...before starting up his own small business using the 'new technology of the time ' The IC '. The products manufactured were of high quality and state of the art for their time....and were greatly respected, particularly in the 'Broadcast Industry' supplying at least one major mixing desk or custom package to almost every Independant Radio Station in the UK.before branching out to Europe and USA. Before finally going into Receivership while supplying A Digital Custom Package to the BBC.....sometime in the early '80's .
