Lives for gear

I need a little input, please.....

Just a gear price question. Have a chance to buy a cherry C24 and a cherry M49. How much is too much?

These are both very nice sounding and in very nice original condition. The M49 has some seriously cool and legitimate history as well. Is that part worth anything, financially?

M49?

C24?

Thanks much for any input on this one.

Regards,
Brian T

Hi Brian,

$6500.00 is the going price for a nice M49.
$7500.00 is the going price for a nice C24.

By the way, Klaus can take the C24 and make it into dual 251's by adding an internal switch and doing other internal modifications. It is wonderful! I love mine in this mode.

Thanks,
Ted.

Hey Jules! What's up? I'm about ready to install the console in a couple of weeks. Can't wait! This has been a huge project.

Brian, I'm not competent to answer but let us know what you decide and how it turns out.

Ted, good to see you here! Good luck with the install -- you must be very excited. I sure would be.

Guys,

I think Brian used the word cherry to say "in perfect condition".

Yes, a 9098i is one damn fine piece of kit. Quality build, huge power supply, great sound. I think Ted's is serial number 001.

Hi guys,

Sorry for the delay. I've been out of town. Yes Jon I'm getting very excited. So is my wife! It has been sitting in her dining room for over 120 days! I told her it would be only about 30. Oops!

It's going to be a big project! I just got my 2 isolation transformers and SurgeX surge suppressors in today. We are still probably a month out. I will post some pics soon.

Jules it is a 72chnl 9098i serial #1. We will have 48 TRKS of RADAR 24/96, 40 tracks of PTHD, a 16 track MCI 2", and a Mike Spitz modified ATR-102 1" and 1/2" to mix to.

By the way, I just hooked up the U67 I sent to Stephen Paul. He(Tony) did the .09 micron mod. Oh my gosh this thing is incredible! I haven't had much time to spend with it since I'm not up yet but my initial impressions had me pulling myself up off the floor!

Brian I heard the "Women of Faith" tracks you cut tonight on the way home. Boy they sounded good. Was that all done in Paris???

Great job!

Thanks,
Ted.
