tech support for Sony C800G in EU

Hi all,

my Sony C800G has increased his noise in a very high percentage..
Maybe could be the tube, i don't know..

Anyone knows where i can send the mic in EU to fix the problem ?

Thanks, and happy new year..

Zipsound,

It might help if you let us know in what country you are.....
And yes: It most likely is the tube.
Try to get an original Sony tube.
It is more expensive than others, but far more better in quality.

Thanks Sp2016,

i'm in Spain, and i'have a Sony tube for replacement but i think i had to replace another mic's part, not just the tube, so i prefere that some prof. tech do the operation...

If you know a place in Netherland i can send the mic..

Thanks.

I have three C-800G's and never had to replace anything else but the tube in the microphone.
That is also why I mentioned using a Sony tube as the one and only replacment.
I have experimented with different brands of tubes, but definitely ended at the Sony ones.
These are specially selected types and I now experience why......

With "the other part" you probalby mean the copperfoil covering the tube.
However it is not always necessary to replace that foil. You DO have to add cooling paste again.
That is the white stuff you see when you are removing the old tube.

You could give SONY U.K. a call.
Their pro-audio service always was great and there still may be one of the old service guys around there that could help you.
Ask for somebody familiar with the C-800G and stop asking if you have to explain what microphone you are talking about.

In Japan

In Japan, SONY declared that they quit maintenance services for C-800G in March 2010.
They continue services for C-800G/9X though.

I am becoming hate SONY.
