Do you know of any drummers for hire....

.... who create drum parts at their own studios and FTP the tracks back to the requester. I recall viewing a webpage of a drummer who has you send them a stereo pair of the tune, and they return .wav files of their drum part...

I recall this, but don't remember the link. Does anyone have such a link (or links) to this kind of service?

Thanking you in advance. Fab

Try Mark Ambrosino, he's a great drummer and a nice guy; he should be able to help you.

I can get Troy Luccketta (Tesla's drummer) to do this for you.

Also, cajonezz from here is a great drummer and would love to do something like this

I've been really thinking about doing this when my studio gets re-built in a few months.

But for some "top knotch" players that do this would be Billy Ward and I know Dave Weckl will too.

Billy has a nice lil studio with some nice mics daking pres and a PT HD system.
I cant find an email on his site tho.. http://p205.ezboard.com/bbillyward

Email soundzfat (at) earthlink.net for Dave Weckl.

Dave Martin would be the first person I'd check with.

Nir Z. is one of the best drummers I've ever worked with. He's played with Genesis, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Flaw, etc. I've done a lot of tracking with him, one recent project recorded at his NYC studio and sent to Germany. Check him out at www.NirZ.com

I work with my brother who's a drummer, Steven Sweet (from the band Warrant) on this stuff. Check my web site for samples.

Are any of these drummers in the "Blink 182" mode?

That is, extremely fast and comfortable with some of the typical high speed alternative rock material?

Thanks

I've been doing remote drum and percussion tracks for clients worldwide for three years now. Check out the site and give me a shout if you are interested.

I'd like to second the Billy Ward recommendation. Billy played on my band's most recent record both in person on the west coast and remotely in his studio in NY. He's simply a phenomenal talent and a true joy to work with. The remote tracks were easily as good as the ones we did together - though it was obviously way more fun to play together!

Not that it matters, but he has a PT LE system (Digi002), not HD.

His email is [email protected]

Regards.

the drummer

hi FabJZ

I work together with a drummer who plays really groovy and accurate. My own studio does not have options for recording drums but we've been doing drums in an another studio that has two really big live rooms (big enough to have full orchetra and more sitting in there), 2 CR's with nice consoles.

Live Room A is 270 square meters
Live Room B is 90 square meters

Control A has 2*48 ch. + 2*8 st.ch D&R Octagon with Power Dynamics)
Control B has very nice sounding vintage 36 ch. Soundcraft TS12

they track on Otari Radar 2 (I took my Nuendo rig with me)

as for mics: DPA 4041-T, DPA HMA4000, ELECTRO-VOICE N/D868, ELECTRO-VOICE RE20, NEUMANN M147 TUBE, AKG C414, AKG C451, AKG D12, NEUMANN U87, RODE NT2, SCHOEPS CMC-5, and all the senns and shures.

last year we recorded orchestra for norwegian popsinger (don't remember the name).
I got 2 reasons doing my own stuff in there 1) for the live room sound and 2) it is some 5-10 times cheaper than same format studios at the states.
PM me if you're interested

I'd go with Billy Ward as well. His drum sounds are crazy cool, he's a huge Daking fan. Also his playing is second to none !!!!!!
