I ordered a GTQ2 from Phoenix in, like 2001 or maybe even 2000. It was back when they had just sold out of their first batch. 3 months later I got a letter from Geoff himself apologizing about the wait. The letter said they were having problems getting parts.

That was the last I heard....

I remember asking him(through e-mail) if I could pay for it in the meantime to which he replied that he wouldn't dream of taking money before having product ready.

I guess they just forgot about me. Kind of funny though, I ran across the letter the other day. I thought, hmmmm, must be some wait for those parts....

Brent's stuff does sound good as well it should... who do you think taught them about the 1073 and supplies many of the parts like original knobs?

The point I made earlier, that's lost in the melee, is that these opinions are all subjective. Brents 1073 will not sound the same as the new Neve offerings, and will they sound exactly like a vintage 1073... probably... but others may beg to differ.

Is this in reference to Original Neve 1073's that are racked by Brent Averill...?

Or in reference to his repro/clones??

Hi

Their reproductions (minus the N logo) of the 1073 and 1084 channel amplifiers. They will also shortly be producing racks to mount them in... made from new anodised rails and not chopped up bits of old consoles.

Hi

Well, similar looking but those were imports. The new racks are made by BA from parts supplied by AA
