Besides the Peluso VTB, any mic under 1500 comparable to C800g?

This is the first time I've gotten to hear the tubes tested, amazing. That
sound is almost mixed at the mic. It's too bad you didn't record the E700
on his voice also for the video (though it says you did test it). Hearing it
against the tube mics would have been revealing. But it sure did well, on
the guitar. That's almost a perfect mic collection there. E700 for times a
tube isn't needed, and both of those are great in different useable ways.
Your mic test videos are among the best I've seen and heard, anywhere.

First of all, thanks a lot for the words of encouragement. We are working extremely hard on these videos, and think that they can really teach people a lot about the way that the microphones sound, and the relative differences between them.

There is a tremendous amount of recording gear videos on our youtube page, and also a huge amount of sound clips embedded on our actual website in case you want to check those out. We are working as fast as we can to get as much as we possibly can out there about the gear that we are using a lot in our studios. To the extent people like the videos and like what we are putting out there, perhaps they will have a little less animosity directed towards us for being a dealer.

At the end of the day, while we are a dealer, we are actually using the gear that we rep on real sessions in a real studio... and we test a lot of gear here that we ultimately decide not to carry because it doesn't meet our requirements. I would like to think that counts for something, but to some people the fact that we are a dealer might negate anything positive that we are otherwise doing. Our staff at Sound Pure consists of professional engineers and musicians. Like all of our other Pro Audio guys, I was a recording engineer before I started consulting/selling studio gear.

Anyhow, to your question, we did test the e700 on his voice as well... it was really great, but not as three-dimensional and complex sounding- I agree that 538 sounds virtually finished as-is. Since you asked about it, I'll just include that one here, let us know what you think about this one...

there are a bunch of videos on the e700 doing a variety of things, actually, if you want to visit this page, they are all posted there in one place:

CharterOak E700 FET Multi Pattern Condenser Microphone | e 700chater oak | Soundpure.com

Charter Oak is a cool company, and Mike Deming is a good guy. Their focus is on making modern new equipment that has a sound of its own, and I think that they are doing a terrific job with it.

I'm going to be surfing the Sound Pure site a lot I think. What people may
not realize is how cool it is to see how close the talent is and how a mic's
positioned in the video. Those matter, and hearing someone tell you that,
isn't quite the same. You also get to see the surroundings. Those matter.

Further, with hi-def videos over 700 stuff IS CD quality, no compromises.
Yep, Mike's one determined individual. You can hear it in those products.
I can't help but think three similar-priced LDC tubes to compare would in
this case be one of those tubes, an RFT A51, and the Pelusa 800 clone.

I have also found the SoundPure videos quite helpful at times...
Sure they don't sound exactly like it would had I done the test myself..... But it is the best I can do as far as researching on the net goes...

Keep up the great work guys!!!

Its turning ****tier by the post. People dont give opinions based on their actual preference, only on how quick that possible dfegad buck is.
true.

What was the answer to this. Dan the man deleted his comment, which leads me to believe it was false… Sorry about the long bump, but not sorry.
