What about bantam patch split y cables?

My bantam patch is full and I need some more options. I haven't seen bantam patch split Y cables anywhere? Is there any disadvantage to make and use couple of these in a bantam patch setup?

Most patchbays have what are called mults built into them. These are generally 4 patchbay holes that are wired together. If you want to do this properly then you need to get a second bay and create some mults within the bay. This will also give you the opportunity to expand your entire rig.

I understand but I could use them as a temporary solution though?

Sure, but you will have to make them yourself as that product is not commercially available due to lack of general interest in such a product.

The only disadvantage is they're gonna be a bit fiddly to solder up.

I have a few minimally configured bantam bays that could be used for mults and other expansion that I'd sell relatively cheap.

Mults are just making a parallel wired set of patch points (generally four.)
It would be no different than a Y-cable except for the hassle.

Well, to be fair, it would not be electrically different.

But it would require more rack space, more patch cables/connectors and cost more money.

Just sayin'...
