How do you connect a 747 between a d8b, and CD recorder?

How about we make it real simple. If I wanted to add the 747 between the d8b, and my CD recorder, what else would I require? A converter? What kind? Does it have to be A/D/A?

I had a Finalizer Express, which had Analog In/Out, and Digital In/Out, so it made it easy to connect it to the recorder.

The way I had it set up was:

d8b AES Out > Finalizer AES In > AES Out from Finalizer to CD AES In. Finalizer Analog Out back to d8b 2 Track A, so I could monitor post Finalizer.

Now with the 747, I know I'm missing something. I just need a little help getting over the digital hump.

Thanks for your support. It's appreciated.

one way would be to keep the finaliser in your setup. but in bypass ... only use the AD.

I guess you don't want to use the AD on the CD recorder right.

d8b analog out ----> into the avalon 747 ----> into analog in on the finaliser (bypass everything) -----> AES out into CD recorder.

I don't know the d8B but aren't there inserts on there .... you could insert the avalon on the d8b in that case and still go AED out from the d8b to the CD recorder.

Or you could try using the AD on the CD recorder.

Chris,

Thanks for your quick response.

Unfortunately, the d8b doesn't have inserts on the master bus. That's one of the problems.

I was thinking about bypassing the Finalizer. I have that going on, on another forum. Do you think that would work?

Does it matter if I use the analog out of the d8b, instead of the digital? Everyone's been telling me not to!

Thanks again.
