User comments on Josephson c700a Microphone?

Appears to be a very interesting mic.
Anyone have the opportunity to record with it yet?

My studio has one on order... waiting... I only got to hear it briefly. It sounded great, and after getting into the e22s' I am a big Josephson fan. I lobbied and we ordered. heh heh heh

Hey! It's been a few months now. Hopfully, this is one less piece of gear your waiting for. How is it?
Have you recorded vocals with it?

I've done some piano recording with the C700a operating in M/S (and the Meth Lab held onto one of the 20th anniversary C720 mics). One of the clearest but smoothest sounding mics I've ever had the opportunity to use. It sounded like the piano, and it did not sound like a microphone was recording it. It simply sounded like the piano. Adjusting the pickup/frequency response of the mic after the fact and processing the individual elements differently can become VERY effective techniques at mixdown that frequently trump equalization and reverb.

I know a couple guys that use the C700a religiously as a lone room mic, on grand pianos, and vocals.

Not exactly a mic that "caught on", I guess the idea escapes many people that would probably go nuts for it if they'd actually used the mic.

I haven't seen a price anywhere.. (?)

Had a 700s for several months now and it is stunning and neutral on any source.

Of course this is the stereo version, I still use it on acoustic guitars all the time with

just the front 8 capsule. The most used instrument mic in our locker.
