microphone repair in Texas

I have a Soundelux U99 that is crackling and sizzling. I called David Bock and have not received an answer yet. So, in the meantime, I am searching for a good place to send this off to. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Is it doing the same crackling and sizzling with a tube swap?

Near Austin?

There's a guy in Austin who rebuilds classic vintage mikes. Can't recall his name at the moment, but I have been to his lab. He advertises in Mix, in the back section.

Thanks fellas. Nuk, I have not tried a tube swap. I am hoping the mic repair guy will let me know the least and most un-invasive repair. Hopefully that is all that is wrong with it. How much is this type of repair cost wise i wonder?

Thanks again,

Keith

at first guess at trouble shooting, I would think "bad tube". Not hard at all to change. Keep us updated just in case someone else runs into this problem, they will have a better idea of a fix.

I just got in touch with Bock Audio and am sending it to them so they can do this properly. They built the mic afterall.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Here for the gear

I have a Neumann KMS 105 that needs repair! Made the mistake of letting the wrong local work on it! It works, but has low power and poor performance. Who is the best in the Houston area that works on Neuman?
