Vu meters for an x-desk or other summing mixer?

Hi everybody,

Does someone know if there's a vu meter in rack format, with 18 meters for 16 ins+2outs?

I'm looking for a solution to control the analogue level before going thru an x-desk, but I think it will be interesting for other summing mixer.

I've just found this :
Tree Audio 500 Meter Module by Inward Connections | VintageKing.com

It would be around 7000$ for this set up...

Thank you!

Hi
How big do you want the meters?
'Real' wiggly VU or led bargraph?
Apart from obviously being correct at '0' do they have to be full spec units? (proper rise and fall times).
The meters from VK look interesting, a bit expensive but 'what a lousy picture' surely they can manage a cheap digital camera?

I would go with a used NTP or new RTW. no VU then..

thank you for your help!

Really like the sm pro audio VU8, cost around 200$; less the toa electronics
But I'm just not sure about the quality of those two units...

Just to sum up my situation:
I'm going to work with x-desk+lynx aurora 16+ hi-quality outboards (and mogami cable)...

Sorry George but I'm a beginner with meters, so don't know what mean NTP,RTW and what's the difference with VU.

Thank you Jim, what would you use? Found this, but really don't know if it will be what I need:
WOHLER LM26-24D AUDIO METER Digital, AES/EBU in, 1U rack, 24x 26 LED meters, VU, PPM

I'm searching an already built hi-quality (to not ruin my sound) outboard to visually control my mix... But i don't really know what will fit my system...

just found a better picture:
Meter Module
Looks cool but a little pricey for 16 Channels.

Simply put: What kind of meter is on ssl console (for example)?

Yes I know!
In fact I'm searching to "finish" the x-desk with meters like in usual consoles.
Just to work faster with analogue channel levels.

Why not just buy some meters from Sifam and rack them yourself? That way you can get whatever meters you want and in whatever format works for you. One thing to note though is that Sifam is moving to India and has laid off half their work force so the lead time is 8 weeks right now
