I need to automate 6 channels (Analog)

Well, that's the scenario:
I mounted an analog summing scheme with the new API 8200 (24 channels).
I got some Eq's and comps that I'll insert.
Summing is ok if you do it entirely in Pro Tools, but compressing and eq'ing outside of it, need a post eq/comp dynamic leveling. So I have 2 options:
1- Insert the analog equipment in the 96 IO (DA / AD) (I prefer not to do that) and do Pro Tools automation.
2- Insert the analog equipment in the API 8200 with an automatable motorized fader.

I want Option 2, so I need to automate 4, 6 or 8 channels. No more that that.

Any sugestions?
Fader? Software?

Yes actually ten suggestions...one ..two...three..basically use your fingers. thumbsup

They still work for this you know.

I still use tape,a marker and my fingers to get the best and most natural automation rides.

The problem with outboard automation(Flying faders for example) is it will cost more than your summing solution.

Automation like moving faders has always and still is a luxury for those that can afford it.

the problem is that the 8200 has small rotary faders.
