Vipre to Warm Up Synths/Samples?

There are certain things computers can do that you just won't find elsewhere...like granular synthesis and crazy stuff like that.
------------------------------------------

exactly... I prefer to investigate stuff like Reaktor, Absynth, Spektral Delay, etc rather than stuff that just clones... fitting the wilder stuff into my sound is very difficult though - kind of clashes with the warmth that I like.

----------------------------------------------

I am still trying to correlate gear to tone in records I hear I like that warm punchy bottom. More of the rounded thump rather then sharp pointy things. And liquidy synths.

----------------------------------------------

sounds like we're on the same mission and like the same kind of sound too! I think the Dakings would make a great purchase - sensible price too. Excellent build. They have just modified the Mic-Pre to include an extra freg in each band I believe... I like them cos its hard to go wrong... give me a parametric and ooopss! Hardest choice is whether to get them vertical or horizontal ;-)

My hottest tip for liquidy synths would be to investigate a Synthesis Technology MOTM modular system. The 440 LPF is the warmest I've ever heard and I've tried a lot! Much better than the sought-after Mutator IMO (long waiting list though :-( )

ooooh yeah...I just found the December 2002 issue of Mix unread in the filing cabinet. Sheer delight, mostly because if I leave the industry mags in the bathroom too long I have to watch out. The freelance producers will make the pages stick together.

Ok a few people asked me for the link to my house music producer friend.

Here it is:

You'll need flash and hi bandwidth.

Listen to the mix for "Automatic Lover" and a few others. He didn't work on all of them, but I know that all of the stuff on the site was done exclusively in DAW.
