Converting Unbalanced to Balanced Signals Alternatives.

I would like to convert some of the synths, tapedeck, video recorders, and samplers that I have that use 6 meters length unbalanced cables into using 6 meters of balanced cables, to reduce noise. Will using a passive DI be the way to convert this signal into balanced without adding quality and charecteristics of the DI used into the signal. I would like to keep the signal untouched so that I can add my own flavours and tones only when I want to. I do not want to spend at all that much money on this. All I want is a clean unbalanced to balanced line conversion without breaking the bank. What units out there will do the job. Are DI set units where there are like 4-8 DIs in one rack suit the application I am after, will the Behringer do for such a mediocre task.

Ebtech line level shifter. Or if you want really cheap try to pick up two Tascam La-40 on ebay, although hard to find. I bought one a while back for $40 and it came with a patchaby. The ebtec will shift 8 channel for you and cost $250. I would just buy the ebtech if I were you. Hope this helps
