How do I make this "work"?

Signal chain is Vintech pre into a rosetta 200, spdif'd into a profire 2626. This works just fine. Now, Im throwing a SSL alpha channel into the mix. How do I get the SSL to clock to the apogee in this chain without interfering with this setup, or am I just better off analogue out of the apogee into the profire 2626 and let the m audio do the AD? It was suggested optical out of the apogee into the profire, and coaxial the apogee with the SSL. Will THAT work?

Not entirely sure what you're after here.

Do you want to use the AD in the Alpha Channel as well as the AD in the Apogee?

exactly, IF you think the AD if a step up from the m audio profire 2626.

I am pretty sure you can only use 1 spdif at a time.

Do you have the SX or the AX converter?

umm, whatever is in the alpha channel? What Id like to do is use both AD from the apogee and the SSL, and not use any AD from the m audio. I THINK optical out of the apogee and coaxial out of the ssl ought to do the trick, but Im not sure.

One is ADAT and the other is AES. If you have the SX(AES), connect the rostetta via aes into the alpha link then the alpha into your 2626 which ever you gives you the best result.
Otherwise, like you said.
