Big Ben setup help!!!

Dear fellow High End Slutz:

BT from Mercenary was very helpful with this but I'm looking for multiple ways to hear the improvement of adding a Big Ben to my HD / Studer 827 setup.

Any ideas or descriptions (be as detailed as possible) would be a help.

Here's my setup:

I track to the Studer with a Lynx II (w/ Horita blackburst generator) and xfer into PT via the Digi Sync box, into one Rosetta 800, one Digi 192, and one Digi 96.

Once I'm in PT I generally stay there.
I'm looking to learn at which stages the benefit is the most obvious, and good ways to set up the units to test the difference in sound quality.

Thank you all in advance!

Maybe I've got it wrong but I figure this the place to get some useful advice.

Perhaps your not hip to this unit but a lot of the Golden Ears seem to agree that a HIGH END word clock device will make otherwise crappy sounding digital sound closer to analog.

I'm just looking for feedback from fellow slutz who have been down this road.

Oh yeah, I'm of Scottish descent so lets have some hagis and chill brother ----

What a rubbish reply I would say... I hate these kinds of comments putting the ones with enthusiasm in a "big bag of ****"...

(can any moderator please have a talk with kudzu)

Inputs:

S/PDIF coaxial on RCA 44.1-192k (Rosetta 800)
AES-EBU on XLR 44.1k-192k single-wide and 88.2 k–192k double-wide (Digi 192)
AES-EBU on XLR 44.1k-192k single-wide and 88.2 k–192k double-wide (Digi 96)

->

Outputs:

S/PDIF coaxial 44.1-192k -> xfer (interface card) -> DAW

This should be the optimum setup. Then you just choose the Big Ben as the master clock to sync against.

I have a big ben. I use the clock in my digital recorder Radar II out to the input of Big Ben than out to other devices that need clocked.
