Tried it, wasn 't my bag baby. When i'm rich and famous, i will use these as additional weights for catching "the big one" off the bottom of the ocean while i tan my ass on the back of my 90ft yaht.

i've used the atc-2 - it's a very underrated box, imo.

i like my atc-2
i don't care, very useful, sounds good, good eq
i even like the mic pres on acoustic guitar,
and acoustic guitar is a very troublesome thing

i might buy another some day
cuz sum folks sell em cheap tutt
also pretty good for running a drum buss thru
it has its own flava

Agree with most what's said about the atc-2 ..; for the price it's almost worth the EQ alone imho.

EQ in ATC-2 sounds better than my old Urei 546 (probably needs recapping) and as good as my beloved Avalon. Compressor is very fast and agressive sounding, great for drums you want to sound a bit scary. Preamps are Sytek Burr-Brown level - usable for any non-critical tracks.

scored

I scored a used (mint) DC-2 at Daddys for $250 over the weekend...I can't wait for work to end so I can get to the studio to test it out!

I think the eq is cool for adding, but its too extreme at cutting for me... Any time I want to tighten something up by cutting something it seems to destroy the sound...

probably just me..

imho, the atc-2 is a very cool eq. not crazy about the preamps or compressor, but the eq is worth the asking price, imo.
