Genex vs DAD (Sphynx II) compare and contrast

I would like to hear from people who know them both, how the onboard Genex converters (90xx series) compare to DAD (Sphynx II) and Mytek.

Haha, me too!

8 years later on from this unanswered question, they are viable as secondhand purchases (if they can be found) for the home studio. To further, the (old) question, how does the DAD/Merging Sphynx II compare with the stand-alone Genex units GXA8 and GXD8?

It's a sound question though rather than one of functionality, from my questioning anyway (although have recently purchased an old Pyramix system/computer with the RS422 control for the Sphynx..).

Ha.. Well, not had time to use it yet. One reason the system was cheap (other than the guy was more a computer dealer and doesn't know what Pyramix is) is that the Intel motherboard has some bad capacitors (common problem) which I'm in the process of replacing.. Came with 2 Myk MB5s, one AdaT, one MADI and v6 Pyramix on the drive.

I've my fingers crossed it is a better pack than Post and with some plugins - was part of a theatre system.

Only problem is how best to connect to converters for higher resolutions as MADI equipped ones are often expensive..
