Hmm, still doesn´t work.

I checked all of the older Kings X videos again. Everything worked
great.
So i don´t think it´s the videos... Also i don´t think it´s got to do
with the .mac homepage.

I guess it´s a browser/plug-in issue. That would explain why people
have problems with different links. Well, just a thought...

Anyone willing to help out? Please!

Hmmm, I think it might be the new Apple H.264 encoding for MPEG-4 video. The quality is great and it keeps the file size managable, but I don't think you can open it if you don't have the latest plugin for Quicktime.

Yeah, if anybody has any ideas, would be cool. Any problems on the Mac side of things?

I checked if there are any updates for Quicktime (on my PC). But everything
was fine...

My Mac is now disconnected from the Internet. But i´ll check again today.
We´ll see if it works...

Guess, you are right. I checked if any udates for Qicktime (for PC) are available,
but i was told "everything is up to date".
Well, since the H.264 is needed, things didn´t work out.

For the PC guys: Check the "quicktime 7 preview version". The H.624 is
included there. So it should work.
I´m downloading now. But 23MB via ISDN will take quite a while....

I´ll share my expiriences as soon as possible.

Here for the gear

Julie from Hydrogyn

Hey everyone, this is Julie from Hydrogyn. This is my first time posting here, but I just wanted to say hello. We are having a great time in the studio with Michael. Things are sounding really good. I can't wait to have the album complete. I hope that things get worked out so everyone can download the new video of Big Star. We hope to be able to do this throughout the recording session. Be sure and check out our site at www.hydrogyn.com. We will be posting some pics from the studio soon. Thanks for all of your support.

Yep, Quicktime 7 (even the PC preview version) provides the codec.

Thanx Dave

that music is actually going to be on the album and so is the big crowd noise during the drumfill after the bridge (got that from the Ozzy tour heh). The song is about a person who "thinks/acts" like he is going to be a "Big Star" but the people around him don't see it. The lyrics in the bridge say: "You wanna be a star - You’ll never be a star...", so I figured he is eventually going to end up with the Circus, hence the Circus music heh

Today we recorded an intro for one of the songs and my friend Michael Dukes (the guy who played the samples for the Randall site) brought by a vintage Supro amp. At the same time my new Randall RM-20 arrived, so we put them both together at a 45 degree angle, put a SF-12 in front and here are the results:

INTRO soundfile

I didn't want to post an MP-3, the file is a 16bit/44,1 kHz wav file, so you can hear the original. In the soundfile the Supra is on the left side, the Randall RM-20 is on the right side (opposite from the picture). It's pretty amazing how much separation there is between the two sides of the SF-12. In the final version there will be quite a bit of Phasing on the track. The RM-20 really kicks ass for those kind of sounds (combo amp sounds that is). It has a 25W Celestion Greenback in it and an output of 15 watts via two EL84 tubes. It also sports a direct recording out, which we didn't check yet, but if it's anyhting like the "Mic eliminator" on the Randall cabs, it's gonna rock, nice amp

Awesome @ RM20 !!!!

I`m thinking about getting one of these soon.

I was pretty interested in the other amps that utilize the modules but they`re a little too high powered for what I`m looking for these days.

I`ve allready got some loud amps and I`ve been checking out some of the low wattage boutique stuff that I could really crank up without going deaf.

A lot of those amps look really cool but I just like the idea of having 20 or so amps in one with the Randall. thumbsup

That clip sounds great MW !

If you notice in the picture, MW get's his cabs so loud they crack the concrete

That Randall sounds sweet! How much are they? I'd like to get a good combo amp that I could use for re-amping $y guitar tracks I get to mix.

Rich / warm / 'burgeoning" sound

That old amp looks MAD! (never seen one)

Cool sound clip..

I as wondering ..... If I had to do that.. in my studio.... Hmmmm...

Ampeg Reverb Rocket combo.. + Matchless Hot Box
Line 6 Vetta (hunt around for combo sounds)
Royer 121 or for stereo 2 x Beyer M160's... ???

Randall looks great... our Ampeg is a little cold / glassy sounding...

I used a stereo mic to be mono compatible (why - I don't know...) but the amps are set at a 45 degree angle and so are the ribbons in the SF-12. You all probably going to hate the sound with all the FX on it later. heh

They list for $750 which is without any modules of course.

The modules list at $250 a piece.

I`m not sure what the street prices on all these are yet.

cool intro... nice amp!

good solid performance too.

I've been getting nice clean tones out of the Mesa F-100's lately (combo version). Slightly overdriven.

I like the RM-20, very sweet.

Thanks for posting MW.
