You can buy NEW KM84 capsules ( NOT KM184)!

KM84s are 21mm diameter (measure mine this afternoon), KM184s are 22. Just been having this convo with the guy from Wilkinson Audio, trying to decide which of his bars to go for (he only does 20 or 22).

It's not terribly obvious which replacement bands are intended for use with the EA 21, but I think this is the one..

Does that seem correct ?
Make sure you confirm with Sennheiser that the current EA 1 bands (576567) are identical to, and compatible with, the original EA21 bands (065417-old order number). I recently re-strung a pair of EA30 which uses the 065417- supposedly the same bands as used on EA 21.

Thanks again Klaus! This answers my question. I've contacted them and will follow up here with the answer so that all those lucky EA 21 shockmount owners will no longer have to wonder which replacement bands to use

I've reached out to sennheiser spares (https://spares.sennheiser.co.uk) several times this week but so far no reply. I've also reached out to Vintage King who still have the old part number listed here (as unavailable) and said they'd reach out to Neumann and let me know:
https://vintageking.com/neumann-shoc...nds-light-grey
(listed as intended for EA 21, EA 2124, EA 30 shock mounts)

B&H and Northern Sound and Lights still list the part as available for order so I ordered a set to be safe:

https://www.northernsoundandlight.co...s/_065417.html

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...stic_Band.html

(both list the item as compatible with EA-30/82/2124 shockmounts)

I will still update here if I get any additional information on the appropriate current replacement part for EA21 bands.

I got an unfortunate email reply to an inquiry I made with https://spares.sennheiser.co.uk

~~~
From: Amanda Yangin <[email protected]>
Subject: 065418
Good afternoon
Further to your telephone message, I can confirm that part number 065418 has been made obsolete with no replacement.
Kind regards
~~~

As for my order with NSL, looks like the item is a drop ship direct from Neumann and is backordered with no expected date.. in other words, I'm probably not getting that order.

It's starting to look like I either source or fashion my own alternative or these EA21s are nothing more than vintage parts.

I have ordered and received within the last year several sets of rubbers from Neumann that fit the EA21 and had given you the old and current order numbers. #065418 was not a number I gave you. How was it supposed to fit an EA21 in the first place?

I should explain.

The email copied above was in response to a voicemail I left in which I requested a suitable replacement for Neumann EA21 shockmount elastic bands. I did not include the part number in the voicemail I left to avoid potential confusion.

I noticed this discrepancy in her reply as well, but it looks like the part numbers 065417 & 065418 are actually two colors of the same part.

..according to this document:
https://en-de.neumann.com/product_files/1683/download

..linked from the neumann website, at the bottom of the page here:
https://en-de.neumann.com/service

I also spoke to someone in the spare parts department at Neumann USA today who told me Neumann had discontinued figure 8 style bands, and that he could not, unfortunately, recommend a replacement.

..but I'll figure something out
