TC Electronic 2290: Software Version, Upgrades, Etc.

Hi everyone:

I'm in the process of sourcing and purchasing a used TC Electronic 2290 digital delay. But after scouring the various manuals on the TC Web site, I've been unable to find out how to determine which, if any, upgrades a unit has.

Can anyone who has used one of these units explain how to check a unit for the following features:

1. The software version (26.xx, 27.xx, etc.)
2. The delay memory (4/8 seconds... I presume you have to open the unit)
3. The sampling upgrade, and the amount of sample time available

Thanks in advance for your input.

The easy answer is that it's a sticker on the left side of the unit. If it's from the factory, all the info is typed/inked in on that sticker.

If you've pulled the manuals down, you'll see some options only applied to certain OS revs. You could ask the seller to check for those features. Similarly, there's a way to set the maximum amount of sampling and delay time (carving up the available memory) using the various special functions. Have the user do that and report back the amounts.

Call Ed Simion at T.C. He can possibly hook you up with someone who knows.

Pressing "SPEC - 0 - ENTER" shows you which PROM version you've got.
