Compressor Problem

Hey guys,

This is not high end gear, but I figured you would know better.

I bought a RNC and it doesn't work. The power supply is not the original and I'm wondering if that might (hopefully) have something to do with it.

power supply i have:
input ac 120v 60hz
output dc 9v 200mA

what it says on the back of the RNC
9vac
500mA

All the lights light up, the bypass is effective but
the unit does not work. Would an FMR power supply be
more effective than that one or is the unit just
broken?

Any help would be appreciated, it was originally from Mercenary, mabye its still under warranty.

best posted in the geekslutz forum - not exactly high end...but.....

looks like the transfomer you have is not powerful enough to power the RNC and is DC - buy a bigger one (at least 500mA AND AC !!!) and see if that works before doing anything else.

(edit)

or is it a troll ?

Like it says on the back of the RNC, you'll need an AC adapter that will provide at least 500ma at 9volts. I'd start with a trip to your local Rat Shack or call FMR Audio directly to get the proper power supply.
