Bruel & Kjaer question

About 7-8 years ago at the AES convention, B&K was showing a small diaphragm mic that was switchable between a tube and fet circuit. I believe that it was an extremely limited edition of only 100 made. Does anyone recall seeing this mic or have any info about it???

DPA Type 3541 is something like you speak of.

Yes I saw it. It was gold with a clear plexy body so you could see the innards. Nice build quality, but the price was $9k as I remember. I brought over a Audio Upgrades High Speed Preamp for them to do demos as they brought no listening gear to their booth. I didn't see it the next year.
Plugging a DPA into a high end tube preamp may have taken away the usefulness of this design.
