88 Note Controller Peavey DPM C8

No one makes a truly great keyboard controller at this time. CME, Fatar --- all substandard compared to the old goodies like the Roland A-80, Peavey DMP C8 series.

I like to see one with
1) A great wooden action like the Kawai MP8 BUT with POLYPHONIC Aftertouch (Ya..... Ensoniq was the last manufacturer to build one --- no one offers polyphonic aftertouch anymore)
2) Three wheels and an X-Y touch pad

Peavey made DPM C8 series in 1994-2002 -ish ? I own one - going on 15 years! It's got a:
Fairly nice keyboard action but a bit noisy when you lift up on the key for a staccato
Friendly user interface
Four assignable control sliders/buttons
Three control wheels, AFTERTOUCH, CV pedal
and THREE control wheels.

Roland made the last Controller with polyphonic aftertouch with 88 weighted keys -- the A-80.

The ironic thing is that with the zillions of VST instruments out there, and more keyboard players than ever using midi controllers, and more manufacturers than ever before making midi controllers.... that ALL of them seem to target the low-end home-studio market... where did the real stage-quality controllers all disappear to? I dont want some cheap plastic feather-light lifeless controller on stage... I want one I'm not afraid is going to break the first time I take it on the road...

And why is it so hard for manufacturers like Roland to realize performing musicians dont want keyboards with external wall-wart power supplies! Make the thing 4oz heavier, and build it in with a standard IEC power cord that I'm not worried about being pulled out on stage, or lost...

polyphonic aftertouch, ha wishful thinking that a manufacturer even knows its part of the midi spec.

Does the K2600 send poly aft or does it only respond to it?

Ha! Even the K2600 or the OASYS do not send (the keyboard does not have the required parts) polyphonic aftertouch! The last production keyboard to do that was the Ensoniq TS-10.

NO KEYBOARD MADE TODAY DOES POLYPHONIC AFTEROUCH! Regression.

Todays softsynths and uber samplers could really use a great controller.

Chime in and perhaps a manufacturer will respond with a great product!
