I just oredered some friday afternoon, can't wait to get them!
Up to now I've been renting oh mics to record drum but now with those I should be able to pratice my drum micing, I'll also be able to learn how my room "works".

Sounds like a lot of fun, actually I also bought all new head and cymbals for my drum this week-end, my hi-hat and ride are awesome, my crash is very explosive and got a great sustain to it, it's a little bit low pitched though but it sounds great.

Can't wait for those mics to arrive.

In the meantime, my drum is a pearl export, not awesome but I know it can sound pretty good with the right head and tuning.
I put remo ambassador on all reso side and on snare batter and emperor on tom's batter, I've put powerstrokes on my kick.
I tuned it pretty good but still not at its best, especially the floor tom and snare

I red a lot about tuning but I'm always open for some more suggestions and tricks if you guys got any.

That'd be nice

anyone looking at the SF-12 owes it to themself to try the AEA R88. it's the most amazing mic either in front or above the kit.

+1. I just got a Royer SF24 a week ago. I have used them on sessions before and have always loved them.
