Bob....man I could just barely see the ghost of james jamerson wafting about...and now I'm off to the basement to listen to all the 4 tops stuff and the temps and little stevie......oh yeah, Dave ...what a beautiful space..I dont agree with the peavy logo catching the eye first though...those 'purples' got me right off...also I've measured it and i think i can fit one of my couches on the bus...

Michael W.,

That's a great looking CR! I've been thinking about getting a DMXR100. How do you like it (sonically / practicality) compared to other consoles you've mixed on?

Cheers,
Imagine

I love those little things. Sonically I'd put it up against anything else out there. The mic pres are very neutral and not very exciting and the converters sound great. I do all my mixing in the digital domain and don't really want to go back to an SSL or any other console without total reset capabilities. The small format enables you to always sit in the sweet spot and the small price enables you to still have a Sushi dinner once in a while. If you have a commercial facility, you have to cater to the clients and go with the "industry standard" (whatever that is at the time) but since I am the only one engineering in my studio, I can go with something I really like. If you are in the market for a small format digital console, you should definitely let your ears do the buying.

Mike, do you do mostly mixes or tracking about as much? I just love the vibe of that CR. And seriously, I'd take a crack at a website for ya!

Doing both. Right now I'm mixing a Metal album in surround, which was completely tracked at WireWorld.

Drop me an email about the website stuff.

Hi Michael. Are you doing the surround mix on the ADAM S3As?

Yes Sir. Five S3As and a M&K 5410 sub with M&K LFE-4 bass management.

It was the third Moog modular ever built. (We were told the first two were built for Walter Carlos and Robert Margouleff.)

We went out and bought it right after somebody slipped us an acetate of "A Day In the Life" months before Sgt. Peppers came out. It was how Stevie and I both found out about Moogs and we were both utterly fascinated by the possibilities. He wound up doing what everybody knows about and I wound up working in space music.

June,

I checked out your site- your place is so damn nice! You've got a great vibe, tons of great instruments and a terrific gear list. If ever I found myself in or near Utah, I'd love to track at your place, but as I don't forsee a trip anytime soon, I'll just admire from a far. Good luck with it!

Really cool everyone. I've got a bunch of great gear, but I don't even HAVE a control room! I'm stuck just using headphones when I'm tracking... definitely the major drawback to my place. My kingdom for a separate CR!
