I've been using an SM58 with the ball/grill removed with great results. ATM450 on bottom.

I accidentally got a really great sound the other day just messing around with a band that was rehearsing in the studio.

I used oktava mk112 on the side of the snare and then a km184 about 6' up pointing over the drummers shoulder and almost horizontal.
Still need to see if I can recreate it. The drummer was rock solid though so that could have been what it was.

I like the M88 + ATM450 combo on top for a full snare sound. Shure 545 for the 57'ish mid impact.

I use the Shure BETA 87A. Hypercardioid back electret condenser. 50Hz-18kHz. Good rejection. Takes EQ well. $150 used.
