So is the session set up for the proper sampling rate and set to slave and not internal?

i was just gonna ask the same question....ya, its 48/16 for the individual tracks which creates a base sound he likes to work with, but then what what does he print his 2 track back to. haha.

Regards,
I set the sample rate in cubase and it changes sample rate automatically on the orpheus. I usually have the orpheus set to local (internal) sync. I do have the ability to change the sync source on the orpheus once I set the sample rate in cubase. seems I had stability issues when setting the sync to DAW on orpheus.

He mix from a Sony Dash 16 bits open reel machine, even if he gets multitrack PT session at 96/24, he will reduce it to 44/16. And hey, his mixes sound outstanding.

Those purist using recording at 96 are only loosing their precious processor for a barely audible difference.

oOp.
he uses a LOT of outboard processing and mixes on an SSL board i believe. it seems like this "base sound" technique is a kind of decimation/truncation/simplification of the source. maybe his processors are more linear with predictably sweet behavior from this process?
