Multing instruments and tracks, soundreplacer etc...

I'm editing the post title to hopefully get more opinions

While reading the thread on snr mults I got to thinking about my mixing processes. I'm curious what other instruments/tracks do you mult and what are your goto processors for those.

Also could you guys give me advice on the pitfalls of a new technique I'm considering using. Since I'm limited on both DSP, I/o's, and analog processing.

MY TECHNIQUE
I start my mix (sequenced music) by tracking the drums and bass. After this I process I make 5 duplicates of my kick and snare track (YES 6 TRACKS OF EACH HELL I DO HIP HOP).

1 Distressor/manley pultec
2 dbx 160xt/NTI EQ3
3 analog channel (AC1)/BF 1176/BF Pultec
4 Digi comp or compressor bank/filterbank
5 original
6 ANALOG CHANNEL/ lofi
(all time adjusted)

Make a group of all the kick tracks and a group of all the snare tracks.
Separate a region of one of the kicks and one of the snares.
Export these files into Sample Cell (or whatever your sampler.
Re trigger the track from the sequence

This way I have the same sound in the event I decide to change the sequence later, and I also have the "Sound" ready for when I work on a different sequence that uses the same sounds.

What do you think???

I'm using Soft sample cell. I don't know that the associated delay is, but it shouldn't be much of a problem since I'm going to re trigger the original tracks also

I'm at home and my ptools rig is at the studio so I can't test this( and I don't have the distressor yet) but I'm figuring once I add back in my regular drum sub compression. This should get me some boom crack

So What do you think
What else are you multing.

I'm thinking for lead vocals
1 Distressor/ NTI EQ3
2 BF LA2A/ filter bank
3 ren comp/ ren EQ
4 BF fairchild/BF Pultec

(of course I wouldn't sample these I'd bus to different tracks and combine in the mix as needed)

So come on Up those comments and tricks u use

Before you guys chime in I thought I'd point out that I know new songs won't demand the "same " sounds. But since I'd have each of the individual drum samples I'd be free to mix and match till I got something I needed. Of course I'd still have originals to start fresh withrollz rollz

On this album I am mixing I have the whole kit going through a Joe Meek stereo compressor. If I want more to 'poke through' I will make a 'copy track' in PT and blend that in a little bit direct to the stereo buss, (Bypassing the Joe Meek)
