Lexicon Pcm42 or Roland Sde3000

Which do you prefer out of these two and why?
Are they both TRS 1/4"?
(Only interested in info on these two units please)

Good question. I would hate to give up either one.

Which ever is affordable at the moment. I perfer the sound of the Lexicon stuff [especially the PCM-41] more than the Roland stuff... but I can pick up SDE-1000's for like $100- where they want great big piles of showbiz cash for the Lexicon stuff and it's not that much better sounding to warrant the cost differential in my world.

Hope this helps some.

Peace.

[PS... the "playmate" - "tap the tempo" feature on the Roland is a definite time saver!!!!].

As far as I know the Roland is TS 1/4" in and out. The Lexicon is 1/4" TRS in and 1/4" TS out.

By the way I prefer the Korg SDD-3000 (sorry). heh

Well i asked about the TRS because i saw this for the SDE3000:

FM Systems .:. Roland SDE3000 .:. Leading the Way in Sound Reinforcement

Out of interest, how many delays do you guys use in a mix and what do you use them on/ like them on?

I should mention that i have 2x SDE3000, an AMS DMX1580S, SDE330 and an Orville...

But the slutty side of me is lusting for a pair of PCM42's was thinking of "upgrading" from a pair of SDE3000's to a pair of PCM42's but wonder if its worth it? More of a side step sonically?
Will need to find some of that showbiz cash fletcher was talking about too, as those lexi delays are definately pricier than the rolands...

GAS where will it end

Have you thought of getting a 2290?

The TC looks a bit to pricey, they are around the PCM42 price, i think id rather have the PCM42 over the TC.
Just wondering if its worth selling the SDE3000's to upgrade to the PCM42's? I paid £100 and £150 for my SDE3000's, both in great shape.
They sound good, but ive never played with the PCM42 and im guessing they sound quite a bit better..
