I think we've done this before, but I'll play again... Cranesong STC-8... fixes your bass sound. It just seems right.

For bass, I'm an opto guy, so I usually go to the LA-2A. There always seems to be one hanging around...

Same with me. LA-2A was my top choice for bass for many years, although recently I've been using DBX's 161 (which is modified with balanced in and out) which either works (and does it tremendously well) or doesn't. It's easy to use and sounds really good when it works on the source.
