You can never go wrong with better microphones... especially when you couple them with great sounding source tones [which are usually created by superior musicians/singers/etc.] in a good room through excellent pre-amplifiers through high quality processing [if required] through superior converters into a software system that doesn't suck.

Can't believe Fletcher didn't say it , but if you have to ask then you're not high end. Being high end is like being in love, you either are or you aren't.

...not sure exactly what "High End" means...I guess if you think you are then you are. More importantly the guys in here are great at giving practical advice. Ask them some specific questions...get some great answers.

well, there you go.

1. being high end is not about having a blast
2. being high end is not about growing as you go but rather about starting from a point of having already grown
3. being high end is not about investing some dough as it comes in but rather about a serious business plan and a basic financial structure.

Sunset Sound is high end.
Abbey Road is high end.
Oceanway is high end.

You are a hobbyist, as most of us are. Some can make a living from it, great.
But high end, my man, HIGH END is something totally different.
