Upgrade to Mackie 32x8?

I'm currently using an older A&H Mixwizard 20:8:2 for OTB mixing (and this is a GREAT mixer). I have an opportunity to buy a Mackie 32X8 w/meter bridge for a very good price.

Would you consider this an upgrade for OTB mixing? I have plenty of high end eqs and preamps, so I'll be using the Mackie mainly for summing. It seems people don't like the Mackie for summing, but vs. the Mixwizard, maybe it's an upgrade?

I probably wouldn't. You could look at SoundCraft LX7 or maybe the Onyx series from Mackie. If you need 8 busses, I'm not sure.
