original owner sold those to the guy I bought them from with the extra capsule, so he is selling them like that too. $5500
I think it was good deal...
You let me know....
I used to have M49, every time i turned it on in the front of the client I was scared how it is going to sounds.... When it sounded good, it was like heaven, but when not....
Also I have other good toys, check out my mic collection on my web site. I think this was the crown to it.
!!!!
I'm happy now.....

gratz..i think the fact that you got a pair of these great mics is what makes it tre cool. there's no way you're going to be disappointed providing that they're in good working order.

I was following that auction as well. $5500 is a pretty good deal. You can get them new for $3200 and you don't get the fancy case, chrome trimmings and extra capsule

I would say it's a decent deal, enjoy

I believe these are the 75th aniversery edition of the M149, they were many more dollars than a standard pair. All the chrome was extra, you got a real deal.

The anniversary edition is exactly the same price as the stock version.

However 5500 USD is quite a killer deal...thumbsup

I payed allmost twice as much for two new ones.
Still O.K. for my favourite LC mic.

+ don´t forget to feed your Purple comp directly with the 149 signal (without a preamp).
Sounds nice heh

Shaman, if i dare to ask, what happened to your Brauners? Not in love with them anymore?

I traded the stereo pair for the 149s.
Kept the third one ( Dirk Brauner modified version).

149s sound much more versatile to my ears and have less harsh high end.
I love them through my gml 8304: full bodied and smooth

mmm, just what I thought.
OT, yes, the GML pres are awesome (here with U87s and TLM170). You can track anything just with 8304s, regardless of what the "Pre-Madness-Boys" here will tell you.

(btw, may I pay you a visit if I ever reach Munich this fall? )

I heard of the high output level of the m149. Can I use it with a 1073dpa or is it really that hot, that it will clip/distort on the mic input I´m looking for an used m149 for strictly rap vocals, what you think of that combo

I like the m149 much better through gml pres than through my neve dpd.

Since the 149 is more in the smooth department it likes a trasnparent pre IMO.

Level wise there should be no problem with a dpd - but with rappers you never know...
